Santiago Palmer Cancel, PsyD, is a clinical neuropsychologist in the Center for Transitional Neuro-Rehabilitation at Barrow Neurological Institute.
Dr. Palmer Cancel’s expertise lies in providing holistic neuropsychological rehabilitation interventions for patients with acquired brain injuries, helping them return to school, work, and home independence. He is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology; the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society; the International Neuropsychological Society; the National Academy of Neuropsychology; the Neuropsychoanalysis Association; the Saugatuck Institute of Neuropsychological Rehabilitation; and the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology, Division 40 of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Palmer Cancel earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico. He completed his clinical psychology internship at Damas Hospital, affiliated with Ponce Health Sciences University, and his clinical neuropsychology fellowship at Brain and Behavioral Associates in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dr. Palmer Cancel’s research interests include the social, emotional, and relational changes following acquired brain injuries and their relationship with executive functions.
