About Our Fellowship
Qualified applicants for the Cerebrovascular & Skull Base fellowship program have graduated from either an AOA or ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency program. Foreign trained applicants must hold a valid ECFMG certificate and must have had at least 36-months of accredited post-graduate training in the US.
Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Fellowship Program Description
This 1-year neurosurgery fellowship is divided into two 6-month blocks with one block spent primarily on the clinical service and one block spent primarily focused on research projects in the neurosurgical research laboratory. The fellowship is accredited by the Society of Neurological Surgeons and accepts two fellows per academic year. Candidates are encouraged to apply 2-3 years before the anticipated start of fellowship training.

Program Goals
Graduates of the cerebrovascular and skull base fellowship will develop advanced knowledge and technical skills in the management of patients with complex cerebrovascular or skull base disorders and be well prepared for careers in academic neurosurgery and subspecialty practice.
Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Clinical Duties
Fellows become an integral part of the Department of Neurosurgery and actively participate in the training and education of residents and medical students. Fellows are expected to share call with the attending physicians and to be on call for complicated cases or postoperative complications. Fellows manage the pre- and postoperative care of patients in surgical and outpatient clinic settings.
