Matthew A. Smith-Cohn, DO, is a neuro-oncologist and an assistant professor at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in neuro-oncology by the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties.
Dr. Smith-Cohn’s expertise is in the management of brain and spine tumors as well as neurological complications of cancer. Dr. Smith-Cohn earned his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed his adult neurology residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City and a joint clinical and research fellowship in neuro-oncology at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland.
Dr. Smith-Cohn’s research interests include medication pharmacokinetics across the blood-brain barrier, targeted cancer therapies, brain tumor immunology, health care delivery, and patient survivorship.
